December 30, 2013

hello everyone!!

First off, no pictures this week as my camera died
mom, haha. I wasn't really that homesick. I wrote garrett that email about a week or 2 before, and it turns out, I had a lot of fun on christmas. And I always look down. Even when I am super happy I always have the same face. haha.
I am actually thinking of still staying past christmas for my full 13 transfers. I am not going to come home early because of christmas. what if the lord still needs me to teach at least one more person, even a day before I go home? Plus, its only 11 days after. :)
Holy crap! Michael Bell got his call to Berlin? That is super awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am super excited for him especially for Dee.
Dad, bring something super warm since Laramie is Fa-reezing! in the winter.
Gavin, I'm not homesick! I told garrett that 2 weeks ago. He sort of spilled the beans :(
I know what its like to have a sick companion. At least he doesn't have crones. My comp has a cold too, and i think I am starting to get it as well. Oh the joys. We live with a little grandma and she says everyday "your not going anywhere!" Sister Owens we can't. we're missionaries. too funny.

Well, its been a super slow week because of the christmas Holidays.
We spent christmas with the Ward Mission Leader and his family the Ker's. I have also played the game Rook for the first time ever! It was awesome! Super fun game.
Holy smokes. I got a lot of stuff for christmas. I don't know how I am going to pack it all up when I move again. Oy.
We are also going meet with our one investigator who we are about to drop, because he has been meeting with the missionaries off and on, and going to church every sunday for the past 7 years. So this appointment is going be a get baptised or drop.
So I found out from Sister Rodriguez that she has really bad cronic headaches. It makes her exhausted and sometimes nauseous. So she is sick almost everyday, especially in the mornings. Cigarette smoke also bothers her stomach and she almost threw up one day after we left a less actives house because the smell was so bad. Why do I have sick companions? what is the Lord trying to teach me? haha. She's doing okay though :)

Well, I'm afraid that is it for this week. It has been super slow.
I love you guys so much!!! :D

P.S. Promise pictures next week

December 17,2013

Hellooooo!!!!!!!!!

Mom, I did not get the letter yet. I will call the office today, and they will check where it is. I will definitly get the letter in the mail this week. (hopefully) :)
I have been opening presents and love the things you sent me so far. especially those really nice tights.
I don't need a giant christmas. Don't worry about the money. keep doing what you are doing and the Lord will take care of me.
I am sooooooo excited about Garrett and Hayley! you don't even know!!!
Kim is in my prayers. The Lord will take care of her. :)
Dad, I'm glad to hear that you are busy. I would rather be busy then not. haha.
wait. you have 2 sets of elders? I thought you had a set of elders and a set of sisters? I heard that from mom. haha
Garrett, AAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!! your getting married in March!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my week was really hard. Sister Hunt and I have been crying all week, because we knew one of us was leaving. The Wethor family was also crying because they didn't want us to leave. Jen left us a message that night saying how greatful she was to have us knock on her door. It was an awesome message which made us cry.
So saturday night we got the phone call that I was getting transferred to Aurora!!! The Mayne's were crying, and everyone else was crying. haha.
It was so hard to leave. The Westminster zone was my second family, and they have supported me through everything. If I stayed there for christmas I wouldn't mind at all.
So the transfer van took us to Aurora which is a half hour away from Westminster. I finally got my new companion who is sister Rodriguez. She is amazing!!! She's super dedicated and loves the people. Not sure if I like the new area I'm in, but I'm sure I will get used to it sooner or later.
Not much to write, but that is all for now.
By the way, we get to skype for christmas! I'm not sure what time, but I will call you to set it up. :)
Just give me your phone number :) or I will just add you and then skype you. either way.
just in case give me your phone number :)

Love you!!!

Hello!!!

How are you all??
Sister Hunt is doing great. But with the sudden change in cold, she doesn't do so well. she has good days and bad days.

Mom, yes I am staying warm. haha. yup! the lowest its been that the car says it has been 1 degree. That is pretty dang chilly.
Yes, I did get the box last tuesday, but I am still on the verge of opening some. haha. Its taunting me. :)
yup. we can't skype. President told me that its against the rules to skype anywhere unless you go foreign. I think Gavin's mission president is not obeying the rules. haha :)
yes! we will have to set up a time. The missionaries are allowed to watch a movie that is NOT FROM THE CHURCH. I'm so happy! we also have 40 minutes to call our families.

Dad, I heard Laramie gets sooooooo cold! one of my companions said that before the missions changed, she served in Laramie for a winter, and she said it was freezing. So dress warm!!!
hahaha!!! Garrett and Hayley need to get married already huh?? thats hilarious!
Thank you for letting me know about the "odd couple". I will definitley pray for them.

So this week, was super cold! The lowest its gotten was 1 degree. But we are staying warm in members homes. We went knocking on doors one time and we were out there for about 15-20 minutes and my face was just numb. haha. fun experience.
So Gavin, you had a baptism??? super cool! I have been here 5 months and I haven't had 1 baptism yet. I sometimes wonder what I am doing wrong. But sister Hunt says: be patient. it will come." I love that girl to death.
The wethors are doing well. They have been coming to church every week by themselves!! We don't have to ask a billion times if they would like to come to church. They are golden!!
Did you watch the christmas devotional from salt lake?? It was awesome! If not, go watch it online. :)
So I am sad to say that nothing much has happened this week, but we are getting ready for transfers. My letter will come next tuesday instead of monday. I am going to miss sister Hunt soooo bad! But the lord is preparing me for a new companion. and I will go or do wherever the Lord wants me to do.

I love you all!!!!

December 2, 2013

Hello!!!
I am so glad you guys had a great thanksgiving!
Mom, you didn't take pictures??? what??? that is the best time to take pictures. haha. :) thats okay. wait. did he propose in front of you? in private? what did he do? get down on one knee? details mom!
I'm glad camille went to the temple early. If I didn't leave for 3-4 months I would have gotten the chance to go early. That would have been waaay better.
Dad, it is suuuper warm right now. It's in the 50s and 60s here. It does fluxuate, but most of the time its really warm.
That is really terrifying about their house. I will surely keep them in my prayers.
Garrett, you don't write me after getting engaged??? tisk tisk
So this week has been a tough week.
Sister Hunt has been having a really rough time, because of her medication (Prednizone). Just keep her in your prayers. :)
Thanksgiving was awesome. Our first dinner started at 1, so we had a big dinner and our second was at 6. Not enough space of time. haha. the second dinner, we had at a less actives house. They smoked a turkey that took 9 hours! oh my goodness! it was AMAZING! The Routs are really starting to open up to us, and they are super greatful that we are teaching them. Love that family :)
The Wethors are no longer on date. We talked to them and they want a little more time to prepare for baptism, so they aren't going to get baptised until after the holidays. Jen didn't feel ready and neither her kids. She was freaking out a little. I was sooooooo disapointed because transfers are on the 16th, and I will probably leave this area. I was crying in the car becuase I wouldn't teach them till the end. Sister Hunt just said, "you are not teaching them because of your salvation, you are teaching them becuase of THEIR salvation. You are a huge part of teaching them and you can always come back for their baptism." I am super Greatful for sister Hunt. She has really taught me a lot.
Well, that is it for the week!
I love you all!!
Sister Rook
P.S. (for Hayley) You can use anything in my room. feel free to use my iPod dock :)

November 25, 2013

Hello!!!
So let me say I am jumping up and down for Garrett right now. I am sooooooooo happy!!
Garrett, thank you for the amazing letter. Love you so much!!!
Mom, yes! it will be 5 months tomorrow hat I have entered the MTC. It goes by so fast. Don't send my package too late, because transfers are on the 16th. A week before transfers the office withholds mail becuase in case someone moves it won't go to the wrong address.
Dad, yes. 3 members invited us over for thanksgiving. One member is a less active family, so they loooove to cook. I think they are roasting the turkey.
Gavin! that is so exciting that you are baptising someone! I am super excited for you!
So this week has been awesome! I couple of miracles happened this week.
WE SET THE WETHOR'S ON DATE! I am suuuuuper excited! So here's the story:
So we have already taught them lessons 1-3. and we went in there wanting to reteach them the 1st lesson. So after we taught it, we challenged them and they said they would think about it. Sister Hunt who is super mega awesome, wouldn't let that happen. So we explained what baptism was, and challenged them 2 more times (individually), and Jen, the mom, sighs and says "I'm ready". AAAGH! we got in the car and pretty much had a mini celebration. But one of the kids said he would pray about it which is AWESOME. We are visiting them tonight, and the are on date for the 8th of December!!
Another miracle happened: We were out trying to visit a less active, who didn't answer and we felt prompted to knock on a door across her apartment room. So we knocked on the door and this woman opened the door. We started talking about families and how the are the most important thing on earth. She tells her story which is very sad and agrees to meet with us again!!! She is so ready to hear the gospel. We are meeting with her again on Thursday.
So a couple of weeks ago, I have finished reading the entire book of Mormon for the first time in my life. with that I have really gained an understanding of Jesus Christ. I know that through Jesus Christ, we can do anything. Everything happens for a reason, not just by coincidence.
I love you all, and have a happy thanksgiving!!!

Here is a picture of our zone christmas tree from White Christmas. The ornaments are for new investigators and the presents are for investigators with a baptismal date

November 18, 2013

Well, hello!
Mom, thats so awesome about the blood clots! I am so happy that you don't have them anymore!!
that is super scary about the sisters in the philipines. But the Lord has a way of protecting the missionaries in one way or another.
Dad, the weather here is super nice. It is so warm that you don't even need a coat at times. It hasen't really snowed yet of which I am super happy for.
I knew you would love the card. I thought it was hilarious
I heard Capones was a really good place. I think the guy from Diners Drive ins and dives stopped by CDA and went there.
So this week has been a good week, other then me getting a cold.
But nothing much has really happened this week.
Sister Hunt is 90 percent better and we are going out and teaching. She is so excited that we can go out again. But she has to refrain from eating Gluten or Dairy because that makes her crohns 10 times worse. So we had to put on the dinner calender no gluten or dairy. She is now getting teased by the members about why she didn't tell anybody in the first place. haha. Its quite funny
Yesterday was stake conference and we had our little investigator show up. Joyce is so awesome. We taught her a little bit more about baptism. she is afraid of the water, and asked us if anybody has died getting baptised. Poor lady. But we are going to have to have two people in the water with her.
So the Wethors are doing awesome. Satan is doing all he can to get them to not go to church. They are still wanting to learn more which is good, and we are seeing them tonight and challenging them for baptism again. PLEASE pray for us!!
So last night we were teaching less actives the first lesson. I was trying to recite the first vision, but my voice was slowy going away because of my cold. ugh. I guess Joseph Smith had a raspy voice. But they were super nice about it and gave me cold medicine afterwords :) which was a blessing.
So a really cool thing is happening in the zone. It is called White Christmas. Each time somebody finds a new investigator, we get an ornament on a tree. We also have to baptise them in december which makes it a "White Christmas". it is the coolest idea. But sister Hunt and I are having a rough time finding. So our district is doing a blitz (where the whole district tract in your area) to help us find faster. I love our misisonaries.
This week, we also have the temple!! I am super excited!! :D
That is pretty much it for this week!!
Love you all!

November 12,2013

Hello!!!

Super sorry I got to the letter so late. we had service this morning, so we had to go to that.
Mom, yup. I miss movies soooo much!! The Mayne's were watching a movie the other day, and I remember watching that movie. aagh! so tempting!!
putting the money on my card would be fantastic. But I do want some nice warm (colorful) socks, pistachios because those are super expensive. Maybe a couple of cute shirts. I will have to think up more next week :)
You know I think the best place to find people to take your ARP class would be through the full time missionaries. Ask the sisters or elders who is going through an addiction, and have them send them to the class. We just reffered someone to that last week.
Oh yeah. I forgot to tell you. Since we are in the president's ward, I am always talking to sister Toombs and Austen (Toombs's son) and we were talking about something and Austen says that your mom posts a lot on the facebook mission page. hahahah. I thought it was hilarious. Caught ya! Don't worry I still love you
Dad, hahahah. I would not believe anybody if they said I would be sleeping on a cot in the hospital.
I did hear about the philipines and the missionaries. But I heard all of them have been accounted for now. They are all in my prayers.
That is super awesome about your name tags! I am soooo happy! We all have name tags now :D

So this week, transfers happened!! I am still with sister Hunt in the Savory Ponds ward in Westminster. This will be my 3rd transfer with her of which I am super stoked about because we get along so well. But the sad part is, our ZL's cancelled transfer doctrine, and just sent out a voicemail. So we couldn't say goodbye to anybody. Everyone was mad! But us sisters had our own meeting so we could write in each others transfer journel.
SIster Hunt is on the mend and can't do much, but she is getting better little by little. She is still a little weak, but she is getting there
But moving on to exciting news. We have someone on date! This little 86 year old woman named Joyce. We had her on date before but she didn't really want to get baptised, so we put her on date again! She is a super shy lady, and doesn't really want a lot of people at her baptism. I really don't know how that is going to work.
We also are still teaching the Wethor family. Jen is really loving the gospel and I know she knows its true but she is still wanting to know more about getting baptised. We are going to try to set her on date this week. She also made homemade Baklava and it was AMAZING!

That is pretty much it for the week!!!

Love you all!!

November 4, 2013

Hello Family!!!

Mom, Sister Hunt is doing a lot better today. I had no idea that uncle Mike has Crohns. I wouldn't wish that disease on anybody.
Honestly I have no idea what I want for Christmas. I will definitely have to think about it some more.
Camille Barlow is going to Jamaica????????? Oh my gosh! I am super jealous! I would seriously melt with that accent. Anyway, you are right, the lord is seriously going to humble her.
Do the pathway program!!! it is a blast!!!! I loved it so much! you don't have to pay for the whole semester all at once. When you take a class, you just have to pay for that class you are currently taking.
Yes I still want Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord. Love it :)
Dad, I'm glad that you are staying busy with your work. better busy then not at all.
Dad I love hearing your testimony. Through email, I can tell that it is very powerful and moving.

So this week has been a super crazy. Sister Hunt had her flair up, and Tuesday night she had a horrible night andWednesday afternoon, I took her to the Hospital. We didn't know how to get there, so brother Mayne drove ahead of us to get there.
We were in the ER for about half the day, So I was on the phone for about 3 hours calling the mission president, and our missionaries.
In between our stay, I went on splits with other sisters in our zone which I really appreciate. Its great to have support in our area.
So when I got there, The staff gave her a double room, but I couldn't stay with her. So Sister Hunt told the nurses that we had to be together, so she had a private room so I could sleep in the same room with her. I told sister toombs that and she let me borrow her cot. Of course I didn't get much sleep because it was a hospital. But her colon and appendix were really inflamed, So she was on a lot of medications.
Sunday sister Hunt turned 25 and she was super sad that she spent it in a hospital. But the nurses were super amazing about it and wished her a happy birthday.
Today Lisa and Debbie visited, but we ate lunch in the hospital cafeteria. Not the way I was expecting, but I got to see them which was super nice. I am so glad I got to see them!
Sister Hunt Is now home from the hospital, and on the mend. So we will go out again sometime later this week.
We are on the members computer again so no pictures. sorry!!! I will definitely catch you up with pictures next week.

Love you all!!

October 28, 2013

Hello!!!

I just want to say you guys are doing so awesome this week! I love hearing your letters!

So Dad, you finally gave in and got an iPhone, huh? I'm so jealous. I find it hilarious that you and mom can't figure it out. haha!!!
That is so awesome about Sharon and John Pollock. I miss those people :)
haha. Don't beat up on Garrett too much. I know he is super busy :)
Mom, don't get discouraged about the clot or your breathing problems. Your body is trying to heal itself as fast as it can.
I got my boots and the package! Love love love my boots and the package you sent me.
Honestly I have no idea what I would want in my package. Maybe a purse? haha JK. Not candy though
I am soooooooo excited about Garrett! aagh! I have no words!
I seriously can't believe that casey has been out for 6 months! Super crazy! I can't believe I have been out for 4 months!
By the way, when I see lisa, it will be a week before transfers, so we will be able to see her :)
Garrett, I totally get that you are super busy. its fine. Don't worry about it too much :)
I am so glad that you are switching majors. They sound pretty cool, although I have no idea what those are. haha.
Gavin, I know jealously is of the devil, But I am SO jealous that you have iPads and iPhones. that sucks!

So this week has been really rough.
Sister Hunt and I have been home all week this week because she has had a flare up with her crones. So she has been in a lot of pain this week. We haven't been going out except for our set appointments which is about 3 people this week. Afterwards, we have to go home so she can recuperate. We did find out that having no dairy and gluten helps a lot with her crones, so she hasn't put on the dinner calendar that she has an allergy to gluten and dairy. Now she is paying. lesson learned: Don't ever feel like you are a burden to a ward when you have a certain allergy because it will come back to bite you!
The members that we live with (the Mayne's) have been a HUGE help with us. Brother Mayne loves talking about the gospel with sister Hunt and I. He has been playing games with us ever since Sister Hunt got sick. Yesterday, she was having a rough day and brother mayne didn't hesitate to run to the store for her. They both said, "treat us like we are your parents. if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask us." love them!!!
Saturday, sister Hunt and I went to the Halloween ward party. which was soooo awesome! Dad, you would have loved it because it was a chilly cook off. We were the cinnamon roll judges, and the elders were the chilly judges. It was awesome. We had two families there! one was a less active family, and the other was a Part member family. We were so excited! The ward introduced themselves to them of which I was so happy about. The ward does a lot for us and you should do the same for your missionaries.
Yesterday, Sister Hunt overdid it at church. We stayed for the whole 3 hours because she wanted to stay for the investigators there. Which is a good thing I guess. But now we are not going anywhere today. We are using the member's computer, so no pictures this week because I have no idea how to work it. haha. I will definitely catch up  with the pictures next week.
I have found that when the Lord gives you trials that you can handle, you are the most humble. The Lord gives you trials for a reason. I know he has a sense of humor, but he knows what he is doing. You know what they say in the scriptures: I will make weak things become strong unto you.

that is it for the week!!

Love you all!!

October 21,2013

Hello!!!
I am so happy to hear that you are all doing well!
Dad, the ward here is amazing! We have a big ward, and there are some people who are really wanting to be a missionary themselves! its so exciting!
Mom, so why are you going to work at gardien angel? I thought you both hated that place. I am glad that you have fun at subbing. It is so amazing how many people are going on there missions! The work is hastening. Also, go to mormonchannel.org and watch the bible videos. They are AMAZING! just thought you might like them :)
Garrett, I agree with gavin about your letter. Whats up? why haven't you written us?
Gavin, I am so glad you had a great trainer. Its exciting that he left for home. It makes you want to work harder and harder. My comp sister Hunt is going home in February, and it just makes me want to work even harder. But it also makes you excited for where you are being transfered too. I love transfer doctrine (transfer meeting)

So this week has been super awesome!
We are teaching an 86 year old woman, and we showed her the restoration video, and we have set her on date for the 10th of November! We are super excited and Joyce is hilarious! She is super shy, because she really doesn't want anyone at her baptism. haha. We are working with the ward to meet her.
We have visited a less active, and his family are not members. So we have been teaching them, and we asked the wife if she has prayed about it if it is true or not. She said to us "well, I didn't think I had to because I thought it was a given that it was true." fantastic! We haven't set them on date yet. We visited last night because they weren't in church. So we stopped by and Bro. Wethor (pronounced waiter) told us that his wife's dad was going to die very soon, and it is just chaos for them. Jen is very depressed at the moment. We are visiting them again on thursday. So please keep them in your prayers!!
We have also been getting to know a less active family who left the church because of the people. They were living in Utah and just had a lot of bad experiences with the people because they had been judged so many times because of what they wear or what they do. It is so sad that people are so judgemental toward each other. breaks my heart.
well, that is pretty much it for the week!
Love you all!!

October 14, 2013

Well, Hello!!
Well, it is getting to the mid month of October, and I have realized that I have been out almost 4 months!! crazy!
Mom, I did buy a coat, and it is super cute! I can always expect great things at Kohl's. ;)
can you put an extra 100 dollars in my account? I may just get some boots next week. I don't know how much they are but just to be sure. by the way, I loooove my chacos! They really keep my feet warm, and I have no trouble with foot pain.
Dad, It is really sad that there are many people in your class, and it is SUPER interesting that it changes the chemicals in your brain. I never knew. I do have a scripture that can go along with your classes (both of you). It is 2 nephi 31:20. Love that scripture.
Also I am okay on funds for now. I will let you know when I need money. Although my purse is getting a little worn out. haha just kidding :)
The weather is kind of weird here though. Just a couple of days ago it was in the 80s. It is just now starting to feel like October.
Garrett, just to let you know I support you in all that you do. Don't listen to gavin. haha. and you didn't answer my question from last week.
Gavin, every other day I get frusterated at myself or other people. Just remember God is on your side, and there is no need to worry.
So this week, we have been working our hardest. I probably haven't told you this, but things changed with the transfer, and we have the APs in our ward now. But it is awesome because when they have a single woman who they really can't go inside with, they just pass it on to us. and Vi ca Verse. So they handed us a teaching record of a single lady, and it said she loves to be sung to. We visited her and she is a sassy black lady named Lavanda. I love her. She was sad that the elders left, but we asked to sing to her, and she loved it. We are now teaching her about the book of mormon. It's amazing how things work out.
We are going to the temple this wednesday, of which I am SUPER excited for! Our session is at 6:30, and it takes us about almost an hour to get there. Not the fun part
So do you remember how a family texted us and said they really don't want to be taught anymore? well, we visited the house and Parker (the father) walked outside. We told them we recieved that text from his daughter. He said I don't know what she texted, but this month was a bad month, but they want to pick up the lessons again next month! Seriously, we were jumping up and down when we got home! It turns out, his daughter doesn't want anything to do with us anymore, but the rest of the family does. We thought there was something fishy about it.
It is amazing at how many miracles happen here. The Lord is really watching out for us and all of his children. I have come to know that without the Lord's help in this, nothing would get done. I am so thankful that I am able to have help not only from my family or friends but also from the Lord.
I love you all!!!

October 7, 2013

Hey everyone!!!

Garrett, Holy Crap! I loooove the temple picture! you seriously look like you two are engaged! I showed Sister Hunt, and she's like "There engaged?????" I had to explain to her that it was an awesome picture but not an engagement picture. haha.
that is so awesome that you are changing your degree! I am all for it. but what about music?

Mom, So sad to say but the pictures wouldn't go through for me. The only picture I saw was the picture of the temple.

By the way. I wrote to hayley like 3 weeks ago and she never responded. whats up with that??? please force her into emailing me. I know we all have her agency, but come on.
I have not yet bought a coat yet. I am doing that today. :)

Dad, Congrats on catching the fish! I am sure it is going to be delicious!
by the way. Send the leftovers with the missionaries to take home. it REALLY helps out a lot with their groceries.

By the way. Please clarify who you are talking to when you send me letters. I don't know if you are talking to me or gavin, Because I saw "my boy" and I'm like wait. what? Just a suggestion :)

Sooo, this week has been CRAZY busy! We haven't really been doing a lot of teaching becuase it took us a week to get everything together into our new house.
So we have been teaching a less active named hayley every night. We have been reading the Book of Mormon with her and she has been progressing so much! She has become more bright, and focused on the gospel. We have committed her to read the whole book of mormon and take the discussions.
But I have to say, conference was AMAZING!!!!! Love all the talks. But I love the quote (I can't remember who said this because I left my notes at home), "Doubt your doubt before your doubt your faith". As a missionary, satan is everywhere and a lot of doubt creeps into your mind with thoughts of "I'm not good enough." or "I'm a horrible teacher" those thoughts are from satan, and we need to think that we are representitives of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we can do anything with the Lord on our side. I choose a scripture that applys to me every transfer, and one of the scriptures that I have chosen that can also go along with this quote is "And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expediant in me" Moroni7:33. I love that scripture becuase it is saying that you can do anything when you have faith in the Lord.

So, I am sooooooooooo sorry it is such a short letter this week. Promise it will be longer next week.

Love you all!!

Monday, September 30, 2013

Well, hello!!
Just to let you know, it is quite warm for us being at the end of september.
Mom, I sent gavin a birthday card, and I don't know if he has it yet.
I did not get my coat yet, because I have been super busy.
I would like the money in my account every month because we go to the temple the 3rd wednesday every month. Just 20 dollars would work. if thats okay. And I have never heard of not having more money as your companion. There is no rule on that.
I have not checked my weight since I left so I have no idea how I am doing.
oh my gosh!! I am so happy for Brian, Shelly, and Kim! that is truly a miracle. But what is the word on Nancy?
so can you send gavin's emails? He is not sending me the family letters. little turd.

Dad,
aagh! I am so excited for Renden!! He is going to have a blast on his mission!
All that traveling is paying off.
So I am going to make this letter kind of short, because we are super busy today.
I survived transfers! I am staying with my follow up strainer sister Hunt, and we are getting ready to move into our new house today because it is somebody else's turn to house us. ugh.
So the family we have been teaching that was set on date for baptism just all of a sudden backed out. They sent us a text and said that they don't want to have anything to do with the church anymore. they felt like they were pushed into it and felt pressured. It was soooo sad! we both ended up crying at the end of the day. Our zone leaders felt so bad for us and bought us a chocolate cake. haha. But we both felt like it was all going to be okay. They are not ready yet and maybe someday they will come back.
So yesterday was seriously the longest day of my life. Sister Hunt was very dehydrated, and ended up throwing up half the day. we didn't really make it to church. But you will never know the true meaning of boredom until you have served a mission and you are sick. Longest. day. ever.
So a pretty cool thing happened. we were visiting a less active, and his wife and kids are not members. So, we gave them a lesson, and they are wanting to learn more! it is so amazing!
this gospel is truely the most amazing thing! It can unify people and can bring peace and comfort in time of need.
I love you all!

Hello Family!!!

It has been a fantastic week!
Mom, I am going to buy my coat today, and I will buy my boots later in the year. I have all of my winter stuff covered because I brought it with me. :)
The flooding is fine in my area. no problems whatsoever. Its for the people up north that are not so good. Just pray for them.
By the way. It is very illegal to call family. Yes, she is a member, but she is family. I need to get permission to do that. So call president or sister toombs to get permission please. thanks!!
By the way, I went to a ward fair, and I won a homemade pie. The lady that made it took a picture of me with it. She put it on her blog too. I asked for it and her blog name is:Cookingwithamytaylor-amy.blogspot.com. I thought you would like to look at it :)
Dad, My comp is super awesome!!! She is teaching me a lot. Although she doesn't get packages at all, and her family doesn't write her. Super sad :'(
Also, I am so happy about your job!! that is so great to hear!! :D
Gavin, I am glad you have an amazing dad (trainer) my mom didn't like me at all. Although we ended up to be really good friends now that we are not together. I am super sorry about your shoes!!!! I am also glad that you follow the promptings. It is an amazing thing huh?

So this week was awesome. Our zone last Pday had a BBQ which was super awesome! it was very ethnic because we have a sister from Korea cook and a elder from Samoa cook. It was AMAZING!
So we have been teaching an investigator who is really really searching. So I really hope that goes well. :)
We did go to the temple on wednesday. It was super awesome! We go the 3rd wednesday of every month. Then we go to the LDS bookstore afterwords. I did buy like 3 CDs. 2 of them were the Piano Guys of which I found out afterwords we can't really listen to. :( I will probably sending them home soon. By the way, on the 3rd wednesday of every month, can you make sure there is enough money in my account? :)
We are teaching a family who is super excited about getting baptised next month! Although, the husband wants to take a trip on that day for some reason. The mom is really mad at him because she wants to get baptised sooooooo badly! I really feel for her.  :( So we are hoping and praying that they will stick to that day.
We have also visited a couple of innactives that are wanting to get back to the missionaries visiting them. We went to this one house who the husband was an innactive and the wife was a nonmember. at the end of our meet, we asked her if she wanted to learn more about us, and she said yes! so we just picked up a new investigator! yay!
So this next week is transfers. The whole ward is hoping and praying that sister Hunt and I stay together. haha :) But we will see what happens. I may not write till next tuesday.

thats pretty much it for the week!

Love you all!! :D

Hello Everyone!!!
So just to clarify, everything is just fine with the flooding. I live in the Westminster area and there have been no flooding. Well.... There was a road yesterday that flooded over, and the road was blocked off (sorry no picture of that). They cancelled the last two hours of church because of it. But everything was totally fine! everyone was just freaked out. But just pray for those people who ARE effected by the flooding.
Mom, that is so awesome that gavin is working through facebook! Our mission hasn't let us do that yet, but someday! By the way, I thought you weren't going to see ANY movies till I got home? haha. just kidding. I did get my GPS  and I love it! It is a garmin, and I paid about 100 on it. I do need you to do me another favor. Could you transfer another 100 dollars into my account? I need to start looking for a coat, so I will get that next week.
Dad, I did like that joke. haha. that is so awesome about the addiction recovery. It is really sad, but it is nice to know that people are there to work through your trials. I have learned that you can never go through a trail or struggle alone.
Gavin, just send your family email to me, that way mom doesn't have to forward them :)
So this week has been really busy. Not much happening about the investigators, but we did have  HUGE all day meeting on wednesday with pretty much half the mission. Elder Corbridge of the 70 came and spoke! (first picture) it was a really cool experience! He had a 3 hour talk about changing oneself to become a better missionary. The last hour of his talk he said that some of you might not get what I am about to talk about..... I was one of those people. haha. But oh well. it was an awesome experiance
There was this one night, where this member called us and said that we have about 10 blizzards to give away from dairy queen, because I believe they work there. So we rushed over there, and come to find out, he gave us 32 blizzards. I kept one, but we gave them away at zone conference where it was an elder's one year mark.
The family that is getting baptised in october are really progressing. The date is still set, and the mom is reading the book of mormon! I am so excited!
well, thats pretty much it for the week!
Love you guys!!!
