December 29, 2014

Hello!

FROZEN WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This last week went by so fast. We had 3 investigator lessons this week, and they went so good!

Benny, is really searching. He wants to change, and wants to know more. He doesn't know how to change. We were almost on Joseph Smith, when he got distracted from the lesson. haha.

Tammie is the daughter of the people that we are living with. She wants religion in her life, and we talked about the 3rd lesson which is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her dad was sitting in the lesson and he was bearing his testimony to her. It was so awesome.

Caleb is awesome. He always says some funny stuff. We are going to have to move his date back if he doesn't start coming to church. Keep his mom in your prayers. But he is so ready for baptism. :D

As I think about my mission, I have thought a lot on how I have changed as a person. I have become more mature and have gained a greater testimony of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. It has really been a blessing to me to serve a mission. I have seen a lot of people change because of the gospel. a lot of people have become happier, and have a light in them that I have never seen before.
My testimony has grown because I have seen the miracles and blessings that come from living the gospel and helping other people grow closer to him. Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can change. It is though the Atonement that we can be forgiven of our sins. Jesus Christ did everything for us so that we could be happy. He did it all, so that we could live with Him and our families for all eternity. I know that to be true. I have studied and prayed for it myself. This gospel is the gospel that has been restored to the earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet that has authority from God. We can receive the blessings of the gospel that God has put on this earth today, because He loves us, and wants us to be happy. Through Jesus Christ, we can have Eternal Life

I love you all so much. I have mixed feelings about coming home. It is truly a bitter-sweet.

Love

The sisters that served in the same ward. and the ward mission leader and his wife the Kers

My last 3 comps in the same room at Outback Steakhouse!

Hello everyone!!!

Mom, I haven't opened my presents yet. I will on Christmas day. :)
sit home? watch movies? whats so bad about that? but I will have to have another person with me though. It will feel weird not being with somebody 24/7
you still have an A and you didn't do that well? you are doing awesome!

Dad, just pick a time when gavin is skyping. or if that doesn't work, then we can Skype right after him.
the family history stuff worked great! thank you so much!

Gavin, missionaries in crime. haha!

Garrett, thank you so much for writing!!! really glad you are doing well!

So this week was great! except for the throwing up on Monday. haha. So this week will be a longer letter with pictures

On Wednesday, sister Huefner had to go to the doctor because she had a different virus then what I had. she was starting to lose hearing in both her ears, so it was time to go to the doctor.
the guy that looked at her said that she had a wall of earwax blocking her eardrum. So he flushed out her ear, and a tone of crap came out of her ear. it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gross!!!!! but she can hear now, so that's great!
We taught sister Jurgens this week, and she is doing so well! she expressed the desire to go to the temple and wants to be active again. she just needs to come to Relief Society.
We also taught Bro. Betz, and we have basically finished teaching him, because he has a great understanding of things and he is pretty much active again. yeah!!! its so amazing to see someone change over the gospel.
On Saturday, we taught Tammy, one of our new Investigators! she is the daughter of the couple that we are living with, so it is so awesome! we see her a lot. she half lives in another ward, and half lives in our ward. so technically she can get baptized in our ward. haha. but we see her throughout the week. she is really the only person that we teach that knows where we live. haha.
Then somebody in my last area that I taught was getting baptized! So I went back, and it was sooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome! I got to see everyone that I served with, and worked with. I got to see my favorite family the Kers!!!! They are an amazing family that loved and supported me. There are so many sisters that taught the person that got baptized and a lot of those sisters I knew! One of them was going home today, so the Kers took us to Outback Steakhouse. I had their chicken guacamole burger. Oh my goodness. Sooooooo good!
It is crazy to think about the sisters that I came out with have gone home today so they can start school in January. and in 3 weeks it is going to be my turn. AAGH! I can't go home! its too short! why couldn't girls serve for 2 years?

well, that's pretty much it. Love you all!

December 8, 2014

Well, my letter is finally here!

Mom, thanks for the letter! That's awesome that you have an A in the class!
Yes I got my box :) my comp loves it too :)

Dad, thank you so much for the family history stories!!! Really appreciate it!

Gavin, sorry, I had the stomach flu today so we had to stay home. I am writing it on my members iPad. It's very slow going

So this week we had a pretty good week.
We tried teaching Colleen this week but she dropped us for a little while because she has to put her life back together. She just has a bit of a hard life. But she still knows the church is true, and still has the desire to be baptized. So that's good!
We found 2 new investigators this week! Ones name is Benny! He is a referral from a member, and he is really open to other religions. He wants to change but doesn't know how. The other is named Tammy!!! She is the daughter of the person that we are living with. I think she might be the only person that we teach that knows where we live. Haha. The lesson went so well that she is already reading and wants to highlight in the Book of Mormon.
And then, we put someone on date for baptism!!!!!!!! Caleb is really excited!! It's for January 31st!!! Woooo!!!

Sorry this letter is sooooooo short. No pictures this week. Sorry

December 1, 2014

Hello!!!

Mom, the weather here is very mild. It hasn't even snowed yet, and its December. It was 60 degrees a couple of days ago.
A bro. Zirker never found me. What ward is he in? Maybe I can find him that way.
Congrats on the house!!! That's so exciting!
Don't worry about the Christmas box. Whatever is in there, I will love :)

Dad, now you have all the food to yourselves! Its awesome.

Gavin, Treat your people that are being disobedient with love. They made their own choice, but people will grow into being the better part. There is this talk given by Elder Corbridge of the 70, and he talks about becoming the 4th missionary. I don't know if he talked about it when he visited you, but its a wonderful talk.

So, this week was awesome.
On Thursday we had 3 dinners. I have never eaten so much in my life. our first dinner was at 1, our 2nd was at 3 and our 3rd was at 6:30. I am sick of turkey now. Members have been feeding us turkey the whole week. After about 8:30, I felt a little sick. haha. But it was good, because one of our dinners we had with non members because the people that we lived with invited us over. So it was great, because we answered some questions that they were wondering.

We also taught Caleb our 9 year old investigator who is the son of a less active, and he is really getting into the discussions. We just have to find a way for him to go to church, because his mom doesn't want to.

On Friday, we went to this little town out in the middle of nowhere, about a half hour away. We never really go to that part of our area because it is too many miles to travel. But we have been good and saved miles to have a Keenesburg day. We ate in this little restaurant, and went into this antique store (during our lunch break), and we talked to this guy who was from Greeley (another little town about an hour away), and afterwords, sister Huefner decided that we should text our district leader to make sure they know where we are. because it is a big area.

I also think we are going to start meeting with Colleen again! Its been a rough couple of weeks for her. So pray for her!!

I love you all!!!
