Well, hello!!
Just to let you know, it is quite warm for us being at the end of september.
Mom, I sent gavin a birthday card, and I don't know if he has it yet.
I did not get my coat yet, because I have been super busy.
I would like the money in my account every month because we go to the temple the 3rd wednesday every month. Just 20 dollars would work. if thats okay. And I have never heard of not having more money as your companion. There is no rule on that.
I have not checked my weight since I left so I have no idea how I am doing.
oh my gosh!! I am so happy for Brian, Shelly, and Kim! that is truly a miracle. But what is the word on Nancy?
so can you send gavin's emails? He is not sending me the family letters. little turd.

Dad,
aagh! I am so excited for Renden!! He is going to have a blast on his mission!
All that traveling is paying off.
So I am going to make this letter kind of short, because we are super busy today.
I survived transfers! I am staying with my follow up strainer sister Hunt, and we are getting ready to move into our new house today because it is somebody else's turn to house us. ugh.
So the family we have been teaching that was set on date for baptism just all of a sudden backed out. They sent us a text and said that they don't want to have anything to do with the church anymore. they felt like they were pushed into it and felt pressured. It was soooo sad! we both ended up crying at the end of the day. Our zone leaders felt so bad for us and bought us a chocolate cake. haha. But we both felt like it was all going to be okay. They are not ready yet and maybe someday they will come back.
So yesterday was seriously the longest day of my life. Sister Hunt was very dehydrated, and ended up throwing up half the day. we didn't really make it to church. But you will never know the true meaning of boredom until you have served a mission and you are sick. Longest. day. ever.
So a pretty cool thing happened. we were visiting a less active, and his wife and kids are not members. So, we gave them a lesson, and they are wanting to learn more! it is so amazing!
this gospel is truely the most amazing thing! It can unify people and can bring peace and comfort in time of need.
I love you all!

Hello Family!!!

It has been a fantastic week!
Mom, I am going to buy my coat today, and I will buy my boots later in the year. I have all of my winter stuff covered because I brought it with me. :)
The flooding is fine in my area. no problems whatsoever. Its for the people up north that are not so good. Just pray for them.
By the way. It is very illegal to call family. Yes, she is a member, but she is family. I need to get permission to do that. So call president or sister toombs to get permission please. thanks!!
By the way, I went to a ward fair, and I won a homemade pie. The lady that made it took a picture of me with it. She put it on her blog too. I asked for it and her blog name is:Cookingwithamytaylor-amy.blogspot.com. I thought you would like to look at it :)
Dad, My comp is super awesome!!! She is teaching me a lot. Although she doesn't get packages at all, and her family doesn't write her. Super sad :'(
Also, I am so happy about your job!! that is so great to hear!! :D
Gavin, I am glad you have an amazing dad (trainer) my mom didn't like me at all. Although we ended up to be really good friends now that we are not together. I am super sorry about your shoes!!!! I am also glad that you follow the promptings. It is an amazing thing huh?

So this week was awesome. Our zone last Pday had a BBQ which was super awesome! it was very ethnic because we have a sister from Korea cook and a elder from Samoa cook. It was AMAZING!
So we have been teaching an investigator who is really really searching. So I really hope that goes well. :)
We did go to the temple on wednesday. It was super awesome! We go the 3rd wednesday of every month. Then we go to the LDS bookstore afterwords. I did buy like 3 CDs. 2 of them were the Piano Guys of which I found out afterwords we can't really listen to. :( I will probably sending them home soon. By the way, on the 3rd wednesday of every month, can you make sure there is enough money in my account? :)
We are teaching a family who is super excited about getting baptised next month! Although, the husband wants to take a trip on that day for some reason. The mom is really mad at him because she wants to get baptised sooooooo badly! I really feel for her.  :( So we are hoping and praying that they will stick to that day.
We have also visited a couple of innactives that are wanting to get back to the missionaries visiting them. We went to this one house who the husband was an innactive and the wife was a nonmember. at the end of our meet, we asked her if she wanted to learn more about us, and she said yes! so we just picked up a new investigator! yay!
So this next week is transfers. The whole ward is hoping and praying that sister Hunt and I stay together. haha :) But we will see what happens. I may not write till next tuesday.

thats pretty much it for the week!

Love you all!! :D

Hello Everyone!!!
So just to clarify, everything is just fine with the flooding. I live in the Westminster area and there have been no flooding. Well.... There was a road yesterday that flooded over, and the road was blocked off (sorry no picture of that). They cancelled the last two hours of church because of it. But everything was totally fine! everyone was just freaked out. But just pray for those people who ARE effected by the flooding.
Mom, that is so awesome that gavin is working through facebook! Our mission hasn't let us do that yet, but someday! By the way, I thought you weren't going to see ANY movies till I got home? haha. just kidding. I did get my GPS  and I love it! It is a garmin, and I paid about 100 on it. I do need you to do me another favor. Could you transfer another 100 dollars into my account? I need to start looking for a coat, so I will get that next week.
Dad, I did like that joke. haha. that is so awesome about the addiction recovery. It is really sad, but it is nice to know that people are there to work through your trials. I have learned that you can never go through a trail or struggle alone.
Gavin, just send your family email to me, that way mom doesn't have to forward them :)
So this week has been really busy. Not much happening about the investigators, but we did have  HUGE all day meeting on wednesday with pretty much half the mission. Elder Corbridge of the 70 came and spoke! (first picture) it was a really cool experience! He had a 3 hour talk about changing oneself to become a better missionary. The last hour of his talk he said that some of you might not get what I am about to talk about..... I was one of those people. haha. But oh well. it was an awesome experiance
There was this one night, where this member called us and said that we have about 10 blizzards to give away from dairy queen, because I believe they work there. So we rushed over there, and come to find out, he gave us 32 blizzards. I kept one, but we gave them away at zone conference where it was an elder's one year mark.
The family that is getting baptised in october are really progressing. The date is still set, and the mom is reading the book of mormon! I am so excited!
well, thats pretty much it for the week!
Love you guys!!!

September 9,2013

Hello!!!

First off, Mom and Dad: HOLY COW! the new calling is amazing!! I am so happy for you that I can barely stand it! Thats so amazing! have you already started? if so, how is it? if not, when??
Garrett, you are so amazing! with all this talk of Hayley, I'm suprised you aren't married by now. hehe.
mom, I am getting a GPS today, thanks for putting the money into my account. :)
Dad, thanks for the letter! I would love to recieve a care package soon :)
Mom, thank you for forwarding Gavin's family email. really appreciate it :). By the way, which picture did you put on facebook? just wondering :)

So this week has been incredibly interesting. I had a cold at the begining of the week, and then my companion caught it. But we recovered fairly quickly. But 2 really awesome experiences happened this week.
1) The family that was investigating after their daughter was baptised is now on date for baptism!!!! I am so happy!! It is a family of four. The 2 younger girls are 11 and 7. They are waiting for the 7 year old to turn 8 so the whole family will be baptised together, which is in october. It was so amazing! Sister Hunt gave me the opportunity to challenge them for baptism since I have never done it before.  The spirit was so strong!!! They are all excited!
2) this experience I am still reflecting on what happened, and it was on Saturday:
Sister Hunt and I, were visiting one of the less actives we had in an apartment building. She wasn't home, so we walked out feeling a little disappointed. But all of a sudden, I had a feeling that somebody needed out help. I told sister hunt this, and I didn't really know what to do, so I walked toward the car. My comp stopped me, and she said to follow what you feel. So we sat down on the curb (on the side of the parking lot), and I was feeling super overwhelmed becuase there were 7 other apartment buildings nearby, so sister hunt suggested that we say a prayer. So we did, and she got this feeling that it was a certain apartment building, and I got that same feeling. So we proceed to the building, and I look at the appartment numbers on the side of the building, and I choose one that sticks out to me. So we walk all the way to the 3rd floor and knock on the persons door, and she answers! I was too astonished to speak! So my companion offers the prayer aproach, and she declines and says she had a bad day, but is willing to take a pamphlet or a card. So we give her our card and a restoration DVD that just HAPPENED to be in my scriptures. After we left, I have no idea what just happened. We are visiting her tonight (hopefully).
The Holy Ghost is the most amazing gift that God has given us. It warns us of danger, and prompts us where we need to go. I have a firm testimony of the Holy Ghost. He is our aid in time of need and our comforter. Please when you have a prompting, follow it, because its not just there for no reason.

I love you all!!!

September 3, 2013

Hello!!

Sorry I didn't write yesterday, it was labor day, and all the libraries were closed.
Dad, thanks for the letter! I will definitly use that one when I meet another born again. But we still want to teach him, but in a different way. Sister Hunt and I want to mail him some stuff, as to avoid an argument and bible bashing. muahaha.
Mom, LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures!! thank you so much! Gavin looks awesome, and the whole family looks awesome! tell grandma and grandpa that I said Hi!! Also, you know that giving out my number to people especially family is against the rules, right?  Just contact the president, so she can get permission. My health is fine, I just have a small cold right now, but I am thinking it will pass over soon :) that is soooooooooo amazing about Gavin's blessing!
Garrett, You are so amazing surprising Hayley! And you are in Opera??? Holy smokes! that is so amazing! Maybe you can sing Phantom of the Opera for me when I get home. hehe :)
Mom, two quick questions: about 99% of the missionaries have some kind of GPS. Would that be okay if you could provide me with one? It doesn't have to be the really expensive ones, just a simple cheap one. if thats okay. the second question is, my comp and I run almost every morning together. I am trying to build her up like I did with Zombie run. Would you be willing to look at my iPod, in the app, and tell me what it does week by week? You can take a screen shot (press home and lock button at the same time) and send it to my email that way. if you can't do it, then can you type it up? you are AMAZING! I love you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!

So this week has been a pretty good week. So our Prep day, we go out with the other sisters and do something. We go golfing, which surprisingly I think is a pretty relaxing sport. It releaves stress like nothing else. Also the owner of the course knows the missionaries so well, that we play for free. He looooove it when we come. we are not taking advantage of this opportunity at all. All of us really feel like we are here for the owner (Pedro). Not sure why....
So we have been visiting people this week because we don't have much appointments. But it was about 8:30 one night when we didn't know whether to go home and plan, or to knock on one more door. we decided to say a prayer on what to do. After the prayer, I had a prompting on to knock on a specific door, I just had to look at a name in the area book. So we knocked on this lady's door expecting somebody, and it turned out to be the mother of the lady we were looking for. After a couple of minutes of talking, she wanted us to meet with her again.
Another cool experiance this week was when we had to go home and study for the last hour of the night, but I really felt like me and sister Hunt should visit somebody who was a investigator years back. So we did, and it turns out he wants to investigate the church again!
I tell you the spirit is an amazing thing!!! I am so grateful that we have the power of the Holy Ghost, because I wouldn't know what to do without it. This gospel is so amazing, it is the only true church that we have on the earth today.
