August 25, 2014

Hello everyone!
Sorry for getting this letter out late today, our member that we live with took us to the wildlife animal sanctuary. Its a pretty awesome place.
Mom, Congrats on the A!!!! thats so awesome!
really sad about the missionaries. That would be terrible on the parents side. :(
I did here about Robin Williams a few days ago. The member was like "Thats so sad about Robin Williams." she had to tell us then. Soooooo sad!
wow. It will be weird not coming home to a piano in the house.
Dad, mom always wins
what was the name of the sister that died from Aurora?
Keep on Keepin' on. you will find a job soon!
Gavin, keep going! do some awesome finding. challenge the youth with a cool challenge, or even the adults!
So, this week was alright.
We taught our investigator Rachel. We handed her off to the YSA sisters which was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sad! I miss her! But oh well. If the Lord wants her in the YSA then I won't argue. But it was a great lesson though. We taught her about the plan of salvation, and the only concern she had was if she lived for eternity after this life, she would eventually get bored. haha. We resolved it for her. But we miss her. she lives just down the street from us which was awesome!
The woman that we regularly teach, sister Jurgens, is doing so well. her sister in law went to the temple, and she has become interested in the temple, and wants to fully come back. She is doing so well.
we also taught a less active, and afterwords she called us and said "just an idea. I really want to feed you dinner." that never happens!! so when we had dinner with her, she said to us, the spirit was really strong in telling her that she should feed us dinner. wow! that is so awesome that she felt it, and followed the prompting!
Brother Betz is doing really well. He is becoming more of a gentlemen now that we have been teaching him. The member that we took with us didn't have a book of mormon, so he handed her his extra one. I am so happy! He's so cool!
well, not many exciting things happening here. our investigators are being flaky, and so we have a hard time trying to find them home and teach them. So sad.
BUT, the challenge for the youth is coming up soon. so they are really excited about that.
Got to go. Love you all!!

Hello everyone!

This week was a little bit slow, but it was really good.

Mom, I know, I was also flashed. haha.
turns out the mom didn't want us coming and teaching them, so we never went back. super sad. Somewhere down the road, they will know the gospel.
Casey Connery has 7 weeks?????????? Holy cow! I thought she just barely left! amazing how time flies. By the way. I agree with Gavin about the sharing the gospel at work.

Dad, Lucy had a seizure?????? thats so sad!!!!  Its a good thing she's okay

Garrett! You're so awesome! Love you!

Gavin, Congrats on training again! Don't worry. You will do great. I know this is a week late, but oh well.

This week was a great week!
We had zone conference with the new president and it was sooooooo good! It was held down in Aurora (my favorite place), and it was about a 40 minute drive. It started at 9, and was supposed to last until 4:30, but it ended lasting until after 5.
we were soooooo tired! But president Mendenhall is sooooo hilarious! When sister Mendenhall was giving her training, sister Mendenhall all of a sudden says "why are you sitting down there?" President had gotten off the stand and sat in the pews in the front row. He shrugs his shoulders and she says "are you eating oreos??" He then gets up showing everyone of his oreo, and walks up to the stand to sit down. His wife says "you didn't get me one?" I loooooooooove them!
This week we taught two investigators, and it went awesome!
Derie is somewhat progressing, but she still has trouble with getting baptised by the proper authority. We explained to her on tuesday about priesthood and the proper authority. It finally clicked in her head. So she is still praying about it. AND she is going out of town for 2 weeks. Soooo, it will be interesting to see what she says when she gets back.
We also taught Rachel! we taught her part of the plan of salvation, and she says "that makes sense!" We also brought a member with us who introduced her to the singles ward. (which is what we were hoping to accomplish) so we are transitioning her to the singles ward on Saturday. I'd hate to lose her, but I think she would do well in it.
So I had a mind blowing story that was told to me yesterday:
So, we were visiting our less active sister Nagy, and we started talking about people that we teach. (sister Jurgens, Brother Betz,) she said "wait, who?? brother betz?" we said yes. She said "Todd Betz?" and we said ....... yes! it turns out sister Nagy knows Brother Betz' mom REALLY well! she worked with her for like 17 years and knows Todd really well!  Mind blown!!!  we both thought to ourselves after we left, that they could really help each other come back to the gospel. Soooooo amazing! The Lord really is a master planner.

That is pretty much it for the week!

I love you all!

Hello!

thank you for all your letters!

Mom, whoo hoo! school!
that is super sad about the boy. But I am so glad that we can all be together again with perfect bodies when resurrection comes.
nobody told me Melissa was having problems. Doesn't really surprise me that she is though.

Dad, that is awesome about brother Pingel becoming bishop. Poor Bishop Mundt was bishop for a while.
that's awesome about you being on the radio! congrats!

This week has been awesome!
Our Less Actives are progressing! every week we have about 3 or 4 that come to church. It is awesome! Todd Betz is also coming to gospel principles class! we challenged him to come to church for 2 hours for 4 weeks. And he excepted that. The people that come with us on appointments fellowship him and invite him to class. I love this ward, because they know there duties when they have to help somebody come back to church, and help us with investigators. This ward is so missionary minded its awesome. We will have to talk to him Thursday to see if he liked class or not. :) now we just have to help our investigators progress.

Miracle this week!
We were in the city of Fort Lupton on Friday (we cover the cities of Brighton, Fort Lupton, Lochbuie, Hudson, Plattville, and Roggen. pretty big), and we were getting really frustrated, because we haven't taught any lessons that day and it was around 8:30. It takes about 20 minutes to get home too. So we said, one more person. So we went to a less active home and he came out of his house, we started talking to him, and then he said hold on. He goes inside, comes back out a minute later with his beer and cigarettes, and says "I'm not interested." what??? you could have told us that BEFORE you brought that out and we would have believed you. He's either a jerk or just dumb. So we gave him our number just incase he changed his mind. After we left, two minutes later, we got a phone call from the guy. He said to come back. We were a little confused. we said "sure what can we do for you?" He said "Well, I have two daughters who are interested in what you have to say." So we rushed back, and long story short, we picked up the oldest one as our investigator!!! The other is 5, so we can't really baptize her. But we asked the dad, and he said it was totally fine. We still have to meet the mom first.
I am truly amazed at home the Lord helps us in times of struggle. That experience was so awesome.

Hello!

Mom, congrats in school! that's so exciting about the stuff that you are learning! keep it up!
Soooo sorry about the piano, and the Ivory bird. that makes me sad :(
woo hoo! So exciting about the people getting confirmed! So exciting!
Congrats on the family home care job!! super exciting! and the meds!!!
Don't worry about the care package. No biggy :)

Dad, Sorry about the heat. and having no AC. First world problems. its amazing of what we take for granted.
Zack and Lindsey had a baby?????? when did they get pregnant?????? Nobody tells me these things. But that's awesome!!!!! Tell them congrats for me!

Gavin, so I got news from my comp sister Bertagnole, that her cousin just got called to the Tempe Arizona mission. His name is Elder Jason Gordon. Look out for him!

This week has been awesome!
We also taught DeRie, and it went awesome! we taught her the second lesson, and asked her to be baptized. (by the way. always challenge someone to be baptized on the first lesson, that way you don't have to go back and explain stuff that you talked about in the first lesson. Lesson learned!) and she said yes! We set a date, and she said she would pray about it. soooo, She practically on date! :D
Not much going on with investigators, but we are soooo happy with our less actives! we have been teaching sister Jurgens, and she was this bitter old lady who basically yelled at everyone at the store. After many months of missionaries teaching her, she is now a sweet old lady who loves everyone. The last time we saw her, she had this light bursting out of her. She is so proud of herself of how far she has gotten in the gospel. She asks questions and when she understands them she is so happy. I love that lady.
We also are teaching my other favorite less active Brother Betz! He has been progressing so much! He is a little more friendly to us, and the people that we bring with us, and he actually said to us, he is looking forward to church! I am soooooo happy! He is a little more happier then when I first met him.
So many amazing things are happening to the people that we are teaching, because the gospel makes people happy. This is why this plan is called "the plan of happiness" because it brings people so much joy in this life. I love it.

I love you all!!
